For Pastors & Church Leaders
Within our congregations, plenty of people carry questions they may never know where or how to ask:
We made The Praxis Course as a space for churches to gather around these overlooked questions around vocation and mission and to help people see their role in the renewal of all things.
This free, video-led course comes out of 15 years of Praxis’s work alongside faithful entrepreneurs, funders, and innovators. Across six sessions, the Course showcases the theological underpinnings of redemptive work, using biblical teachings and real-life stories from our community to awaken the church’s imagination to the opportunities for restoration and renewal all around them.
Faith in Action
Who the Course is for
The Course is for Christians who are curious enough to keep learning and restless enough to want more. This could include people at a vocational crossroads, who are eager to try or build something new, but also anyone ready to see their role and their work in a new way.
Hosting
The Praxis Course is a video-based experience with six sessions of teaching, story, discussion, and application, all contained in our online Hub. It can run as a small group, a Sunday school class, a ministry team gathering, or a handful of friends meeting in a living room.
We designed The Praxis Course so anyone can host. Leaders do not need any particular background or expertise, just a willingness to gather a group and follow the provided guides. Once hosts sign up, the Hub walks them through the process of inviting participants, running each session, and leading discussion.
See the resources at the bottom of this page for ways to introduce this formational experience to your congregation—from Sunday announcements to email invitations—and to invite people to either host or join a group.
The Content
This Course exists because we believe that God invites us all to join him in working toward the renewal of all things.
We believe that God has uniquely equipped and positioned his people to repair what has been broken and help work toward “earth as it is in heaven.” We are called to redemptive work—creative restoration through sacrifice—through the example of Jesus Christ.
The core teachings in the Course are presented by Praxis CEO Dave Blanchard and Partner for Theology & Culture Andy Crouch, drawing from Scripture, church teaching, and examples throughout history.
At Praxis, we affirm the Apostles’ Creed, and our work is shaped by the convictions outlined in the Lausanne Covenant of 1974 and the Cape Town Commitment of 2010. Our organization has no denominational affiliation, and we make our resources available for free to churches spanning traditions.
Where to start
We would love to partner with you as you equip your congregation to pursue redemptive work in their neighborhoods, communities, and industries.
